Becoming A Christian

Many of you may be wondering about God, faith, the Bible, or this Jesus guy we talk about. If you want to know more go to my contact page and send me a message, I would love to talk with you. However, here is the Gospel (the good news) of Jesus Christ:

God created us to be with Him.

God, the creator of the universe, loves you and wants to be in a love relationship with you that is real and personal.

Our sins separate us from God.

Regardless of His love, we have all done things wrong. The word “sin” comes from an archery term meaning “to miss the mark”. Because of our wrongdoing, we have all missed the holy and perfect mark that God, who is perfect, requires. Therefore, our sin deserves punishment.

Sins cannot be removed by good deeds.

The problem is that we think we can fix our sin problem. Nothing you do can replace sin. Good deeds trying to cover up sin is like spraying perfume on a corpse, it just doesn’t work.

Paying the price for sin Jesus died and rose again.

But here’s the good news, since we can’t fix our sin problem, God came down from heaven in the form of a human , fully man-fully divine, and died on the cross for the forgiveness of your sin. Though He died, He didn’t stay dead. He rose from the dead defeating sin, defeating death, and defeating Satan.

Everyone who trusts in Christ alone will have eternal life.

Jesus has done this act of forgiveness for all people, but the benefit of this action of grace and love only applies if you personally put your faith and trust in Him alone (not other religions, good deeds, or anything else) as your Lord and Savior – meaning relinquishing control of your life and then following Jesus in obedience and love.

Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever.

Putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ secures your eternity. You will live with Him forever in this most wonderful place beyond our wildest dreams, heaven. But, life with Jesus is not simply a future you have yet to see, but He can change your life right now. It doesn’t mean life will be easy or that you will get everything you want. It means that you have a relationship with the God of the universe and when tough times come, He grants you wisdom and peace through the power of His Holy Spirit in the midst of those trials and in every situation you face.

This is the Gospel. The Bible says that “if you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord than you are saved.” If this makes sense to you and you put your faith and trust in Christ let me know. I’d love to celebrate that with you and help you get connected to a Bible believing, Bible preaching church.
